Senior Vice President, Director of Alternative Risk Programs
Manufacturing Division
Chris brings 27 years of manufacturing insurance experience to Champion Risk. He works with manufacturers ranging from approximately $5 million to $270 million in annual revenue, helping leadership teams evaluate traditional insurance, claims performance, safety strategy and alternative-risk opportunities.
He specializes in captive and loss-sensitive programs for manufacturers seeking greater control over insurance costs and the potential to benefit from favorable loss performance. His approach begins with how the company operates—its products, equipment, people, contracts and points of interruption.
Specialist Support
Chris remains the primary manufacturing relationship lead and coordinates specialists according to each client’s needs.
Susan brings more than 35 years of workers’ compensation experience from both the carrier and agency sides of the industry. She helps employers move complex claims toward recovery and resolution.
Martin provides practical safety guidance and employee-engagement ideas. His expertise is brought into client work as needed and coordinated with carrier and other specialized resources.
Heidi helps employers evaluate plan options, manage costs and communicate benefits across shifts, locations and employee groups throughout the year.
Commercial Insurance Team
Champion’s commercial insurance professionals support coverage strategy, carrier relationships, renewals and the day-to-day details that keep each program moving.
As CEO and Managing Partner, Mark leads Champion Risk’s strategic direction and continued growth as an independent insurance brokerage. He works across the organization to connect specialized expertise, strong client service and the resources businesses need to make informed risk decisions.
Mark’s leadership has helped Champion expand its capabilities while maintaining the responsive, relationship-driven approach at the center of the firm’s culture.
Jesse brings a consultative approach to helping businesses understand and manage complex commercial exposures. Since joining Champion more than two years ago, he has worked closely with clients to develop coverage strategies aligned with their operations and long-term goals.
His experience supporting the manufacturing industry gives him valuable perspective on contractual risk, evolving exposures and the practical challenges faced by complex commercial operations.
Carol brings relationship-focused service and strong industry leadership to her role at Champion, where she has served commercial insurance clients for four years.
Active with the International Association of Insurance Professionals since 2007, Carol served two terms as president of its San Diego chapter and later as California Council Director. She has also held leadership roles with Toastmasters International.
Lindsey has spent six years at Champion helping commercial clients navigate every stage of the insurance lifecycle. She oversees renewal strategy, carrier marketing, policy placement and ongoing account service with an emphasis on accuracy, responsiveness and a strong client experience.
She works closely with clients, producers and carrier partners to identify coverage gaps, evaluate emerging risks and develop insurance solutions aligned with each organization’s needs.
After previously serving with the agency, Donna returned to Champion in 2025, bringing valuable familiarity with the organization, its clients and its service-first approach.
Donna supports clients throughout the policy lifecycle, coordinating day-to-day service needs and helping ensure questions, coverage updates and requests are handled with care and responsiveness.
A Coordinated Approach
Insurance structure, workplace safety, claims performance and employee strategy influence one another. Champion brings the appropriate people into the conversation without forcing clients to manage a parade of disconnected specialists.
Mark provides executive leadership while Chris connects the work at the program level. Susan focuses on workers’ compensation claims, Martin Lesko contributes safety expertise as needed, and Heidi supports employee benefits strategy. Jesse, Carol, Lindsey and Donna add commercial coverage, renewal and account-management support as client needs require.

Champion Risk’s Manufacturing Program was founded and developed by Glenn Van Noy, whose commitment to manufacturers shaped the program for more than 20 years. Glenn became known for practical guidance, industry advocacy and a deep understanding of the risks facing machining and manufacturing businesses.
Following Glenn’s passing, Chris assumed leadership with a commitment to carrying that work forward. The program continues to grow through expanded alternative-risk capabilities, dedicated claims leadership, practical safety resources and continued involvement in the manufacturing community.
Glenn’s legacy remains part of the program’s purpose: helping manufacturers become safer, stronger and better prepared for the future.
